    1. Re: [ILMACON] 1870 census
    2. Gloria, In the 1870 Macon Co., Il., census, there are no Stickler's listed. However, it does tell you to see "Stricklen." Under Stricklen, you find Augustus, Daniel, David, Elisabeth, Emaline, Henry, Josephine. Under "Strickland," is Elizabeth, George and Henry, all of the same household. In the 1870 West Virginia census, Nicholas County, Wilderness Twp., is a Harvey Stickler, born in Virginia about 1840. In 1892, I found Harvey Stickler (born in Va.), along with H. K. (born in Pa.), B. F. (born in Pa.) Jacob (born in Ohio), Arnold (born in Switz.) and William (born in U.S.), all registered to vote in the Chicago Voters Index. Harvey has only been a resident of the state of Il. for 2 years and of Cook Co. for 1 year. I don't know if any of this helps you or not. Do you know for sure that your Harvey Stickler was a resident of Macon Co.? Jane Griffin
