Jean, when was your Sarah Bennett born? Did Sarah have a middle initial? Do you know about when she was married? What's her husband's first name? I've tried different spellings of Sara and that doesn't work. I found a Sarah Bennett marrying a Jason Ray on 15 Mar 1852 in Warren Co., Illinois, and a Sarah C. Bennett marrying a Henry Ray on 25 Oct 1883 Vermillion Co., Illinois. In the 1880 census, I found Sarah F. Ray, 40, born in Indiana in Aetna, Logan, Il., and Sarah E. Ray, age 30, from Indiana in Island Grove, Sangamon Co., Illinois. My computer is so slow tonight that I'm going to have to give up on pulling up all the census and go visit with my husband. In the 1860 Indiana (Crawfordsville) census, there was a Sarah Bennett, age 26, living with a minister and his family (I couldn't read the last name). She was born in England. I was not able to pull up Sarah Ray in the 1910 Illinois census, and I didn't see her in the 1990 under her name; but that doesn't mean she isn't there, just not on a by name entry.
