    3. A problem in Decatur is a lot of the big industry has left, either left the state or left the country. Plants ran the town and then they left. The job situation is not good and people with no money don't pay taxes. It used to be noted for its beautiful parks. The parks are still there but they aren't so beautiful. I am told the road between Warrensburg and Forsyth is totally built up like a subdivision. It was farms not that long age. These people don't pay taxes in Decatur. The Warrensburg school district is huge and I assume Maroa-Forsyth is also. And then there's Decatur's big mistake -- the mall. They refused to let them build in Decatur so they built in Forsyth and downtown followed. It isn't that great a mall but since it is all there is for miles it is a big draw.
