Well, hello "cous' by marriage"! I'm so grateful for the interest we all showed in Decatur! See, our meanderings have led us to Shelby and Moultrie Counties! I'm working on my step-dad's genealogy as well. Don't have much since I just started on it, but I do have something on the John Chesshire line. It was taken from the book, Portrait and Biographical Record of Shelby and Moultrie Counties, Illinois (1891). Have you seen the article? If not, I'll gladly retype it for you. My step-dad, Bob Campbell, has a great copy of the book, but due to its age, I've wrapped it up and it stays in Decatur. Why I didn't go buy some floppies back when I typed the articles is beyond me. I just brought home the printed sheets of the Chesshire and Campbell lines.
