Thanks to all you great people for your help. It has taken me awhile to track down these folks - amazing how many John Grahams were around back then in almost the same place. I looked for John Graham in 1988 and only found one listing for him in 1888, but that doesn't mean there wouldn't be more at the Decatur Library. In the 1888 listing that I found, it read: "Mrs. Kate Einstein departed to-day for Louisville, Ky., where she will attend the sixth marriage anniversary celebration of her daughter, Mrs. John W. Graham." In the 12/31/1887 issue, the following citation was found: "Mr. and Mrs. John W. Graham left for their home at Louisville, Ky., after a delightful holiday visit in this city." May be a relative, but doesn't seem like it would work for your grandfather. I use Ancestry.com so it may be that there are other articles as well. Do you have the exact date your grandfather passed away? I'll try to look under the initials later tonight.
