My Aunt & Uncle lived on the corner of Curtis & Illinois Streets (just down from the housing project) at the same time (they lived there for many years.) If you'd like to send me some further information I could ask around and maybe help you? I also had grandparents that lived on East Orchard (in Decatur) from about 1942-1965. Don't think that was considered out in the country. Where was your Orchard Drive located? She and her siblings remember a family by the name of the CORRINGTONs (Not sure if this is the correct spelling) and are wondering what became of them. They lived next door to them in the Government tenements on Longview around 1946-1949. Then the moved out to the 'country' on Orchard drive and the Corrington's followed a few years later but lived on another street. Have been unable to find any reference to this family, and think I might be misspelling their last name. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!! Starla, Please excuse my long delay in responding. It seems as if LIFE things is over-shadowing my genealogy fun. My grandparents lived in the 1200 block of East Orchard, just off of Conduit (?) St., where the underpass is. This was a long way away from Lost Bridge. I haven't had a chance to contact my Aunt regarding the Corringtons. Her daughter (my cousin) AND her husband are BOTH fighting cancer and it doesn't not look good for either one. Both are in their mid-50's and I doubt very seriously if either one will make it past year-end. Very sad time. When the proper time comes I will certainly ask my Aunt. I do remember the CAYLORs (think his name was Cecil, wife's name Dora? And they had 3 boys ... David & "Stevie" were 2 of them... think David was born about 1940.)
