According to the cemetery llisting on the Macon Co. web site http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilmacon/ Long Grove Cemetery is located in South Macon Twp. ----- Original Message ----- From: <doriswaggoner@juno.com> To: <ILMACON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, September 12, 2003 9:31 PM Subject: [ILMACON] Long Grove Cometery BARTLETT > > What township is Long Grove Cemetery in? I don't recall the title, but I will lookup the file I copied, and if needed by anybody, will enter the title of the book to the list. Mary

    3. I'm trying to locate descendants of Harry K Reed and Anna A Dukes Reed who married in 1899 and lived in Macon County through the 1930 census. They had at least 3 boys, Irvin, Harold H and Howard N (Norman?). I think Irvin might also have been named James, and I've been told there was a Robert--maybe Harold H was Harold R? I'd like to know when Harry died, but I'm most interested in finding descendants of the boys. Judy Dukes in Terre Haute (Vigo Co) Indiana

    2. Robert L Webb
    3. Ladies and Gentlemen: In case it might be of any help to anyone with Baptist ancestors, I submit the website of the Primitive Baptist Library, in Carthage, Illinois, which has done research on churches of that faith in over 80 counties of Illinois, and in over 30 states across the northern part of our country. The Library has a collection of church and association records, and periodicals, with obituaries, and membership lists have been extracted and entered into a database which now has about 44,000 names, about half of which are for Illinois. The website is: http://www.carthage.lib.il.us/community/churches/primbap/pbl.html Sincerely, Elder Robert Webb

    3. When I contacted my local library they said they didn't have it and had no plans to get it. I joined another organization which had it. About three months later I discovered my library not only had it but I could access it just like I access the card catalog. You might go to your library's web site and see if they gave you the correct information -- and then check back in a month or so. They were wrong anyway. A person cannot buy a subscription to Heritage Quest Online. 1. [ILMACON] Heritage Quest
    2. Cheryl Rothwell
    3. Is your public library online? Does it have a subscription to Heritage Quest? Many libraries do although it is often not well publicized. If your library is a subscriber and is online you can get some great free information from your home. You may need to contact your library for your user name and password. Often the user name is built in and the password is your library card number. Heritage Quest provides access to the ProQuest Historical Newspapers New York Times 1851-1998 Database and to Heritage Quest Online which includes all census images through 1930 and an incredible searchable collection of over 25,000 old family and local histories. This is a growing database. Currently the indexed censuses available are 1790-1820 and 1860-1870, 1890 [what there is of it]-1920. [Keep in mind the 1880 census is available to search at www.familysearch.org although the images are not free.] The books are mind boggling. There are now 7932 family histories, 12049 local histories and 260 primary sources. Both the indexed censuses and the book collection are searchable. 3. Cheryl, I contacted my local library some time ago asking if I could access their Heritage Quest from home, but they said, no, I would only be able to do searches with it in the library. They also told me that in order to use Heritage Quest at home, I would have to buy my own subscription. Julie Cheryl Rothwell <LoganCty@mindspring.com> wrote: Is your public library online?
