    1. Re: Re: [ILMACON] Boody connection
    2. I was a Smith. Lived in Boody from 1945 -1952. My father was born there in 1901. Reid Smith. I am related to most everyone that lived in Boody in the early days; Smith, Schenck, Warnick, Burke, Morey, Nientker, Williams, etc. My name was Helen Smith. I attended the Boody Grade School, at first it was just a two room school house, 4 grades in each room. Then they took in all the country schools and we became a 4 room schoolhouse, 2 grades per room. I visited there last year and walked the town with my cousin, Jan [Morey] Carpenter. The Nientkers ran the little store when I lived there. Ora Nientker was was my grandmother Smith's sister. When Wesley Nientker died his daughter and son in law took over the store, P.E. & Helen Conrad. I went out to Stonington last year and got to go into the store, it was moved out there several years ago. Mrs. Damery purchased it in memory of her husband. It was a real walk back in time to stand in that store. Hope we have a connection somewhere. 1. Re: RE: [ILMACON] Change of email address
    2. Yes I did. It's been a long time since I lived there though. My father was born in Boody in 1901. He was a Smith and related to most everyone in Boody. I moved there in 1945 when I was 6. Into the home my great grandparents had built and my Uncle Lynn Smith had live also. It was next door to the house my dad was born in, my Aunt Dot Schenck lived there at that time as my grandparents Millard and Addie Smith had died. I was back there last year and walked that little town with my cousin Jan [Morey] Carpenter. We had such a good time remembering when we were kids living there. I even got to go into my old home and also my Aunt Dot's home, the people there are still so nice and friendly. I have a friend there that I met on the internet several years ago. Dick Bowman. I got to meet him when I was back there. He lives down in the West End near the Fuhrer's home. I am related to the Warnick's, Nientker's, Evans, Chapman's, Burke's, Morey's and most everyone else who was there back in the early days. Thanks for your help in updating my email on the Macon Co. site. It may be awhile before I can get to that again but I am still taking any updates. If you see a broken link [I did fix some] please let me know. I put a link with my email address on the main page. I'm not putting it on every page because that will just make more work for Earliene when she is back. Can you check any death indexes and city directories? It would be awesome if you can find Etta. Thanks Susan. Things work out so weird. I contacted someone else just recently to help with this and they just moved out of state and couldnt help.

    3. >> http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form I'm not looking for a specific cemetery. The URL Carolyn gave [above] is also good for looking up ANY place you can't find. It won't give you specific directions [unless you have a GPS] but it will help you narrow it down. As an aside, I enter those latitude and longitude numbers in my TMG because I figure, one day soon, we will all be using GPS. Some cars already come with them. You can also chose "Cemetery" and "Macon County" and get a list of all the cemeteries in Macon County. I have to say though, it is NOT perfect on such things. Obviously, you can do this with any county and any state. 3. Cheryl, If you are specific looking for where cemeteries are, you might try the web site for United States Geological Survey. http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form This web site will map the cemetery, although it will not tell you how to get there. However, if you know where the cemetery is then it will make it a little easier to map out directions. --- Cheryl Rothwell <LoganCty@mindspring.com> wrote: > Does anyone happen to have a plat map for Macon > County?
