    3. Would anyone happen to have a marriage date for Francis (or Fanny) A. Bennison Wallace who married a Samuel Little sometime between 1826 and 1847? I have looked in the IL State Marriages and the Macon County Marriage Records book (1829-1850) from the Genealogy Society, with no success. Francis A. Bennison was born about Oct 1771 in SC. She married James Wallace about 1803 or 1804 in SC. They came to Sangamon Co. and settled near Auburn. James died there in 1826. She went to Macon County in the 1830's, probably Long Creek, with some of her children. Her children were John, William, Rose Ann or Rosanna, Sarah, Elizabeth, twins Isaac and Melinda, James B. Samuel and Nancy. Some of them settled permanently in Macon County, but Samuel died in Shelby County at Tower Hill. At some time between James Wallace's death and her own she married a Samuel Little. Does anyone know the date and place of this marriage, or can suggest where I might look, I would love it. 2. Where in Texas are you? If you are close to Walters, Oklahoma, (just 45 minutes north of Wichita Falls, Tx.), we'll be having a Decatur Days here some time in the spring or early summer. I have a pretty extensive Illinois (Macon, Piatt, Sangamon, Christian and Moultrie Counties) references. Biggest county though is Macon. Jane G.

    1. Re: [ILMACON] records from 1900-1910
    2. Jean, when was your Sarah Bennett born? Did Sarah have a middle initial? Do you know about when she was married? What's her husband's first name? I've tried different spellings of Sara and that doesn't work. I found a Sarah Bennett marrying a Jason Ray on 15 Mar 1852 in Warren Co., Illinois, and a Sarah C. Bennett marrying a Henry Ray on 25 Oct 1883 Vermillion Co., Illinois. In the 1880 census, I found Sarah F. Ray, 40, born in Indiana in Aetna, Logan, Il., and Sarah E. Ray, age 30, from Indiana in Island Grove, Sangamon Co., Illinois. My computer is so slow tonight that I'm going to have to give up on pulling up all the census and go visit with my husband. In the 1860 Indiana (Crawfordsville) census, there was a Sarah Bennett, age 26, living with a minister and his family (I couldn't read the last name). She was born in England. I was not able to pull up Sarah Ray in the 1910 Illinois census, and I didn't see her in the 1990 under her name; but that doesn't mean she isn't there, just not on a by name entry. Sometimes I have to go to the state and start that way. No more time tonight. Give me a little more info and I'll see what I can find for you.

    2. I'm not quite sure how to answer that question, Bennett was her maiden name, Ray was her married name, her husband might have been related to them, but I have not found her marriage record to know anything about him. In the 1900 census it states she was divorced. She came from Indiana, and she was the only member of the family to move to Illinois, so thinking her husband was also in Indiana then they moved to Illinois, but not sure since I can't find a marriage record yet. I was in class of 57 and I think their were BENNETT younger than I in school then. It seems like they were related to my uncle Roy Everette ALLSUP. Uncle Roy died in 1993.
