You can now search the Logan County web site. I am trying a search engine and in my tests it worked well. Since I know [I think] what is there I could tell if it came up with the right results. I tried 'Civil War' and it came up with a list of places on the site which mention Civil War. I then tried 'Myrick' which, AFAIK, only appears in Obits. Sure enough, it found the obit and the link to the obit from the main obit page. This means you could search for a surname and it would search all the queries, old and new. [For a wider surname search use the search engine on the surname search page -- it goes to many, many web pages.] There will probably be various incarnations of this as I work with it. Other possibilities are a site map and a 'what's new' page. BTW, this search engine is free and you could get it for your personal web page if you like. Extremely simple to set up too -- why do you think I tried it? <g> Cheryl Rothwell LoganCty@mindspring.com Coordinator, Logan County, ILGenWeb Project http://www.rootsweb.com/~illogan/loindex.htm Logan County mailing list> LOGAN-L-request@rootsweb.com Downing mailing list> DOWNING-L-request@rootsweb.com Harding mailing list> HARDING-L-request@rootsweb.com Downing query board> http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/Downing Lucas query board> http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/Lucas
