Hi Rochelle, Yes, I remember you! I'm trying to find out the parentage of one John Williams married to Marcy Jane Lucas. The confusing thing is that the information I find in the Ancestral File contains different information than the family information I've gotten from family group sheets. I don't know if we're dealing with two different people or what!! Anyway, I know the guy had parents, and I'm bound and determined to find them. I'm waiting for the 1850 census to come on line, because according to the family group sheets, my John Williams died in 1844, so if he's still listed in the 1850 census, then Ancestral File is probably right. If not, the family group records are right and someone has recorded the wrong Williams line into Ancestral File. And that was probably more information than you wanted to know. Thanks for letting me vent and thanks for the information on the employment section on the 1840 census. Little by little my 'brickwall' is coming down!! Shauna
