Are they still at a funeral home in Atlanta, or historical society or county seat?>> I wasn't aware of an index for the records -- I happen to have the book titled "G. H. Tuttle Funeral Home Records, Atlanta, Logan County, Illinois", compiled by Mrs. Kenneth Patterson of the Decatur Gen. Soc. The preface says that G. H. Tuttle, who had been Mr. A. E. Church's assistant and successor in the business, alphabetized the records for the sale of caskets while he was still an assistant, and allowed the Decatur Gen. Soc. to copy the records. In case you need the information, the date of sale of the caskets for the Bodkin family members, perhaps the date of burial or death, hard to say in some cases, is as follows: Bodkin, Richard February 8, 1862 David's child September ___ 1865 Old Mr. August 16, 1866 Mrs. December 24, 1873 David October 25, 1885 _____ December 24, 1890 in some cases in the listings, the Gen. Soc. has been able to correlate the listings to burials in various cemeteries -- in the case of the Bodkin's, no additional information is given. Hope this is of some help in understanding the book.
