    2. Volume 99 means, without a doubt 1999. Issue 57 might have several messages so I don't know how the issue and the message number could be the same. In any event, Rootsweb sets up the list format and the numbering system is not an option I can change. I understand the problem. I get very confused when I get anything in digest. If you only check your email once or twice a day the only difference between digest and straight messages is the number of messages and I think it is easier to follow things with straight messages. If you check messages all day long or automatically get them as they come in then a digest might be better. One other thing that can cause confusion. Sometimes folks do not respond to the list which means other members miss the answer. It is more common on this list than some others. I strongly encourage everyone to respond to list messages on the list to prevent this.
