Today I discovered that 511 men enlisted in the Black Hawk War from Sangamon County [which includes what is now Logan County]. I noted some duplicates. For example, some guy named A. Lincoln apparently enlisted twice. He was probably never heard from again. <g> I didn't see a lot of names I recognized -- I scanned the whole list -- but I did note Copeland, several Lucases, one Musick, a 'Sroggin' which is undoubtedly a Scroggin, a Turner, that elusive John Williams...
