Hello. I'm new to this list. I have been researching my gggrandmother, Mary Ann ROACH, born 7/2/1844 in New York City. She may have been an orphan. She settled in Lincoln Twp., Logan Co. sometime before 1860. I found her on the census lin 1860, living with a CAPP family. Here's the info.: Logan Co., Lincoln Twp., p. 190 Capp, G.W., IL Martha, 29, KY Zepemiah?, 6,IL George N., 5, IL Roach, Mary, 16, NY Kellin, John, 14, NY I don't know who this family was. Perhaps she was adopted, or she could have been working for them. Mary Ann ROACH married Noah WEAVER in the early 1860's, probably in Logan Co.. They had two children: Alice and Noah WEAVER. Noah, Sr. died, and Mary Ann married William Morrow SILVERs in 1873. Does anybody recognize either the ROACH or CAPP names? I noticed that there were CAPPs among the early settlers of Logan Co. Please let me know if you recognize either family and/or have any idea of Mary Ann's relationship to the CAPPs. Thanks. Beth BSmith7439@aol.com
