The Capp that is a Logan County original is Jabez and he settled in Mt. Pulaski. They came from England and apparently went first to the Springfield area before Jabez left for better country [take that Mary Ann! <g>] in what was to become Logan County. The original generation, including Jabez, would be too old for this person. I looked through Jabez' genealogy and I don't see any Roaches or G. W.s. However, the Capps family included the following children: Jabez, Ebenzer, Mary Ann, Susan, Sarah, John, Charles, Benjamin, Thomas. The 1878 Logan County history has a George Capps but he was living in in Mt. Pulaski and was a child. There are quite a few Roaches. I note the Capps have two children living with them, not Capps. They could be children of deceased relatives although two with two different surnames tends to point toward service workers I would think.
