I was hoping for some enlistment information like next of kin, age, etc. Does the state have more detailed information that I could access? If so, where do I write and what do I ask for? They said that what they sent me was an unofficial and uncertified reproduction of "The Black Hawk War 1831 - 1832 (Vol.1/Illinois Volunteers)." For a $5.00 fee, I could obtain official, certified copies of this record. How would the certified official copies be any different from what they already sent me?
