I am trying to find out information about my grandfather and his family. He lived in Lincoln, Logan county, Illinois with his brother and two sisters and his parents in the early 1900s from what I have been told. My parents even lived in Lincoln the year before I was born, in 1961. They both worked in Lincoln in 1961 and 1962, but haven't kept any contact with the HICKEY side of the family. My grandfather was called Jack, but his given name was John HICKEY. He had at least one brother, Bill (William) and two sisters Margaret and Helen (died young in 1907). The parents of Jack and his siblings were John and Mary. John, Mary, William, Margaret and Helen are all buried in Holy Cross (?) cemetery in Lincoln. Jack died in 1936 at about mid-40s in age and is buried in Springfield with my grandmother. There are two dates that have been found for his birthdate, 1892 or 1894. I have excerpts from a letter written in 1982 to Mrs Jack Hickey of Springfield, IL (my grandmother) from James T Hickey, Lincoln Curator of the IL State Historical Library. In it he states that he thinks he remembers Jack and bill as they were known to his father, Emmett who died in 1947. He said that he/they were related to or distantly related to all the HICKEYs in Logan county. Any information about these people, their ancestors or descendants would be appreciated. Also any ideas on how I can find out more definite information would be appreciated. I am in Kansas. Thank you in advance, Sharon
