Genealogical and Historical Society. The book has several photos on each page with descriptive and informative paragraphs about each. The Foreward of the Book: "One hundred twenty years have passed since the first history of Lincoln and Logan County appeared in 1878. A second history followed in 1886. In 1911, Lawrence B. Stringer published the "History of Logan County" considered the best Illinois county history ever written. In 1901, a biographical record of Logan County was published, followed by the "Centennial History of Lincoln" in 1953. The last accounting of Lincoln and Logan County appeared in 1982, emphasizing family histories." Gleason's book has a collection of photographs dating back into the last century.
