Gleason copyright 1998 by G. Bradley Publishing, Inc. of St. Louis, MO My copy is autographed by Paul. My daughter bought it for me and had Paul sign it. He is a retired Educator and currently serves as a member of the Logan Co. Board as well as Logan Co. Historian for the Board. He is president of the Central IL Economic Development Corp. (Community Action). He chairs the Logan Co. Historic Preservation Commission and the Elkhart Historic Society. He serves on the boards of the Middletown, Knapp, Chestnut, Becker Historical Society, the Logan Co. Genealogical and Historical Society,the Abraham Lincoln Tourism Board of Logan Co., and the IL Rt. 66 Ass'n. of IL. He has served several terms as President of the Logan Co. Genealogical and Historical Society. The book has several photos on each page with descriptive and informative paragraphs about each. The Foreward of the Book: "One hundred twenty years have passed since the first history of Lincoln and Logan County appeared in 1878. A second history followed in 1886. In 1911, Lawrence B. Stringer published the "History of Logan County" considered the best Illinois county history ever written. In 1901, a biographical record of Logan County was published, followed by the "Centennial History of Lincoln" in 1953. The last accounting of Lincoln and Logan County appeared in 1982, emphasizing family histories." Gleason's book has a collection of photographs dating back into the last century. He gave a specialthank youto david shroyer, son of a very special friend, Larry Shroyer, for allowing the use of his father's wonderful collection of photographs and those taken by walter S.
