But it was not the Logan County we know today. If your research is in the north and northeast part of the county this is important. Everyone else can tune out. <g> In 1841 Logan gained more land from Tazwell County. In 1847 a small part of DeWitt County became Logan and the county was complete. Mt. Pulaski was the county seat then, NOT Lincoln [which was even a town yet].
