I am at a dead end with Charles (nickname: Spot) WILLIS born (reportedly) in Emden, Logan Co., IL 27 Jan 1871. He had a brother named Jasper (Jap). Charles married Mary Taylor in Emden in Sept 1892 and died in Peoria 8 March 1940. I haven't been able to locate any record of a Willis family in Logan County. I found a typed sheet of paper with the names of William and Tracy Daniel Willis as his parents, but no places or dates. I haven't obtained a copy of his death certificate yet, but I don't hold out much hope that it will provide me with anything other than names that I already have. Is there anyone who would be willing to do a lookup for me either for Logan Co. or Peoria, Co.? I have not been able to find any record of Charles' birth. I have his original marriage certificate and lots of info on his wife's family. He is buried in Peoria, none of my living family members remember him mentioning anything about his parents or where they lived. Penny duncansonline@juno.com P.S.
