Schwerdtfiger? Does anyone recognize this name? It could have variations such as Schwerdtfeger. This is the name of Waletta's Yeakle's step-father. Her mother's name is Caroline. L C Schwerdtfiger and Caroline are shown with Waletta living at 602 Lincoln Ave., Lincoln, Logan Co., IL. Caroline was born in 1869 in Illinois. Waletta was born December 1892 in Illinois. I still don't know what Caroline's last name is because I can't decipher the writing on the marriage certificate. It looks like it could be Tillin, Tellin, Wilkin, Welkin, Tallin, etc.. The only letters for sure are two LLs followed by an i. with at least one letter before and after the LLs and the i. Course the spelling could be inaccurate. If anyone can help me or knows about these families, I would appreciate any assistance or information.
