    1. [ILLOGAN] ISGS Marriage Database
    2. According to the September/October ISGS Newsletter, 1,033,854 marriages have been entered into their statewide database. They have completed 42 counties, including Bond, Cass, Christian, DeWitt, Fayette, Logan, Macon, Menard and Sangamon. They are 'partially' done with 42 more including Clinton, McLean, Marion, Marshall, Mason, Peoria, Stark and Tazewell. They had not started [as of August 20] 18 counties including Marshall, Putnam, Washington and Woodford. They still need volunteers. If you are local you can abstract information from county records but there are also volunteers who enter records into a personal computer. To volunteer write: Marriage Records Project, ISGS, PO Box 10195, Springfield, IL 62791-0195. This database, when complete, will be made available through the State Archives. The plan is for it to be online like other State Archive databases. To help speed this project along volunteer. Cheryl Rothwell clrothwell@mindspring.com
