    1. [ILLOGAN] Immigration Source Code
    2. Not the answer but more information... NARA is the National Archives Regional something, in this case on the southwest side of Chicago. Problem with them is you pretty much have to be in the region you are searching. The one in Atlanta, for example, has records for the southeastern US, not including Logan County, IL. I never used the FHC microfilms for this kind of research, and I don't remember what they named the numbers on the card index films at Nara but I would guess that is the code for the location of the original record or possibly the NARA film number to check next? It has been years but I remember filling out a form at Nara with the info from the microfilmed card and taking it with $$ to the desk. They looked at the numbers from the card and told me to go away, the record I needed was downtown and they don't order them. :o) About a month later I made it downtown and WOW! The guy looked at the form, pulled out a large book and let me look (but don't touch) at some pages in it before he copied them for me. For my Grandpa I have a "Certificate of Arrival" that shows he arrived in New York on July 10, 1910 on the ship New York (which he had boarded in Southhamptom, England. His "Declaration of Intention" was filed in Cook County April 1912 and it contains his description, the exact location (down to the farm) of his birth in Sweden, says his last residence was Coppenhagen, Denmark and that he forever renounces his allegiance to King Gustavus V. Next page is his "Petition for Naturalization" filed 8 years later and by then he was living at 46th and Lake Park Ave. in Chicago, was married to my Grandma, was working as a Chauffeur and that he lived in Illinois since Sept 1, 1912 except for Aug. 1916-Oct. 1917 when he lived in Philadelphia, PA. This page also shows the names, addresses and occupations of the two folks who vouched for him. Last page shows that he took his "Oath of Allegiance" on Feb. 20, 1919. Neat stuff and a real windfall! Those lil cards do not even hint at the amount of info that is really out there somewhere. Cheryl Rothwell clrothwell@mindspring.com
