    1. [ILLOGAN] 1870 Census Index for Illinois
    2. http://www.heritagequest.com/genealogy/CD-ROM/html/il.html This is an AD for a CD of an INDEX of the entire 1870 Illinois census. It contains: "over 730,500 entries. It lists the heads of households for all 1870 counties and cities in Illinois, plus every male over age 50, every female over age 70, and all persons with other surnames in the households. Entries include name, age, sex, race, birthplace, locale, and county, and source microfilm roll and page numbers." It does NOT contain the record itself. This is NOT an endorsement, just letting you know what is available. I personally would not buy it since I only need one county. If my ancestors were scattered across the state in 1870 I might consider it. This company also has some census records on CD but their databases were broken when I attempted to access them to see exactly what that meant and how it works.
