    3. I would appreciate some help with some grandparents I seem to have misplaced. I've been collecting folks named RICHNER and LOETTERLE. I will happily share what I have acquired. I can't find any record of a Frederick RICHNER in Illinois in 1860 but his first son was born at the end of June 1863 in Delhi, Jersey Co. That means he had to be in Illinois, no later than, the end of September of 1862 and that isn't leaving much time for courtship. He died in 1871 and was buried in Mt. Pulaski Cemetery. Frederick was born in Switzerland but that's all we know. Did he emigrate with family? Regarding Christianna: What is her maiden name or what city in Germany was she born in? Failing that, what was her first husband's first name and were was he from? Did she emmigrate with him or her own family? This census is the evidence that links the LOETTERLE/RICHNER families. Census relationships are sons and daughter. 1880 Census: Leanna, Logan Co., Illinois - page Richner, Christina 48 Keeps House,[b.Feb 1831] Wrbg-Wrbg-Wrbg, Widow Loetterle, Frederick 28 Farmer [b.Nov 1853] Wrbg-Wrbg-Wrbg " Adam 22 Farmer [b.Aug 1860] IL -Wrbg-Wrbg " Michael 20 Farm hand [b.Feb 1859] IL -Wrbg-Wrbg Richner Mattie 14 at home IL -Wrbg-Wrbg [only record of Mattie] " Henry 12 at home IL -Wrbg-Wrbg " William 10 at school IL -Wrbg-Wrbg " Charles 18 Farm Hand IL -Wrbg-Wrbg Note: There is no overlap in the ages of the children that would indicate stepchildren. ---------------------- 1900 Census (Christina is living with her son, Henry A. Richner, in Decatur, Macon Co., Illinois. Richner, Christina, Feb, 1831, 69, Widow, 8 children, 6 living,Ger,Ger, Ger, Immigrated in 1852, In the US for 48 years. [son Fredrick maintains he immigrated in 1854/5 at the age of 1 year! This census indicates Christina had given birth to 8 children and 6 were still living. "A" William Richner died in 1898. I don't even know if that one was her son, but the inscription from Mt Pulaski Cemetery: William, Son of C. & F. Richner 9/2/1869 - 10/7/1898. If he was her son, the children listed with her in the 1880 Census form the core of this family. I have assembled several LOETTERLE/LETTERLE/LETTERLY/LITTERLY/LEOTTERLE family trees so I could try to recognize relationships. I will post the earliest generation, that I have, of each of them in another email. Thanks very much, Penny (Richner) Husler PHusler@PacBell.net ----------------------
