Broderbund is back peddling a bit on what is 'fair use' of their CDs. They prohibit wholesale 'I have this CD and will do lookups' but they now say if you do one or two lookups for a neighbor it is acceptable. I interpret that to mean if someone on this list [of Logan County 'neighbors'] says 'if anyone has the CD on Revolutionary War Pension Lists could they tell me if Abraham Lucas is listed?' that is a fair use question. [Answer: yes, pension denied.] ONE or two items to be looked up at the most... Besides, if you have a whole list you really should buy the CD, book or whatever. If this gets out of hand we'll have to bring it to a halt so proceed accordingly. Cheryl Rothwell clrothwell@mindspring.com
