S-K Publications is putting copies of census records on CD for a fee. If someone buys a CD the company donates a copy of the file to the USGenWeb Archives to be placed on the web for free public access. The cost of the CD is based on the number of page numbers. It was estimated that the cost of a CD of the 1850 Logan County census would be 200 pages or about $90. Presumably the later censuses, covering increased residents, cost more. I have ordered the 1840 Logan County census. When I get it it will also go up on the web as described above. Unlike the CDs from the software companies it is not copyright and can be shared with everyone.
