You can do this same thing by using the an ASCII Chart as you type. For instance the euros is made by holding the alt key down and typing 0128 on the keypad. The umlat u is made by holding the alt key down and typing 129 �; the � is alt 132 or simply use "ae" for �. and "ue" for �. If you need a specific one, please let me know and I can send it to you.
