There are two Thomases on the 1850 census: Thomas, John 180A, Thomas, Mary J. 201B. On the 1855 state census there are: Joseph W. Thomas Township 17 - Range 1 A. J. Thomas Township 21 - Range 1 John R. Thomas Township 18 - Range 2 Hiram Thomas Township 19 - Range 2 John Thomas Township 19 - Range 3 Eli Thomas Township 21 - Range 4 Isaiah Thomas Township 21 - Range John R. and Hiram could be in the area of Downing Cemetery which is practically on the Range 2, Township 18/Township 19 line. I have not run across a Thomas in connection with my ancestors in that area.
