    3. I just realized we don't know the name of her grandmother. If we did someone might have a clue. Worth a try. Cheryl Rothwell [email protected] Logan County ILGenWeb www.rootsweb.com/~illogan Central IL Regional Coordinator, ILGenWeb Clark, Downing, Harding, Lucas, et al I have begun geneology research in Ohio trying to locate the birth of my gggrandmother. According to the 1850 & 1860 Illinois Census, she was born around 1804 in Ohio and was in Lincoln, Ill by 1843. Could some of you, who know the Ohio counties your Illinois ancestors were born in, give me the names of those counties as I hope those counties may have been the more populated ones where persons migrated to Illinois in the 1830's & 40's. 2. Sorry, I did forget to mention my gggrandmother's name. All our family knows about her is what has been written in the Lincoln, Logan County, Illinois 1850 and 1860 censuses. Her name in the 1850 census was Sarah Robinson, age 43, born in Ohio, noted as HOH with two 'Robinson' children. In the 1860 census her name was Sarah Green, age 53 and living next to her son-in-law, Joseph Craven, along with her son, Samuel Green (who later, before going into the Civil War in 1862, changed his name back to Samuel Robinson). We have located Sarah's tombstone (taken a photo) in a cemetery in Kansas where she died while living with her son, Samuel M. Robinson. Her tombstone states her name as: Sarah T. Green. I am hoping research in Ohio may lead me to Sarah T. Robinson since we have had no luck locating any clues in Illinois as to how she came to Illinois. I guess because of her age, it is possible she adopted her son, Samuel, and her daughter, Angeline. Again, thanks for any help. JaneAnn Gifford Ft.
