His listing only shows his birthdate of Nov. 9, 1834 but he shares the plot with his wife, Sarah J. (Rankin) (dob Nov. 13, 1834 dod August 25, 1912). I am looking for Robert's date of death or burial. I believe he was the son of James O. Turley who farmed in that county. There is only one Illinois death record on file for a Robert Turley and I wrote for the certificate which shows a birthdate of 11/20/1854 and a date of death as June 15, 1925. But the 1920 US census shows my Robert as age 85 and a widower and living with his daughter, Alice Buckles in Niantic, Macon co., so I don't think this is the same person Would there be any information in your records or where can I go to find out? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks. John Merrill Turley ("John"): Dear John: I am John Wilham of Heyworth, IL. Your James Turley is likely one of the earliest settlers in Logan county. If you find more information, I hope that you will share it with me. I have the following to offer you. I have some of the records of The Predestinarian Baptist Church near Lake Fork, IL. I have them from two sources. I have a printout sent to me by Cheryl Rothwell which has the most information. I do not have it digitally. You might also just ask for "Predestinarian Baptist Church", and I think you will find a website by a minister from Carthage, IL where one of the churches of that name still exists. I am sure that Cheryl Rothwell will read this and attach the digital file to you. There are several TURLEY's mentioned in the congregation which dates back at least 1827. I have several ancestors and relatives in the congregation including Michael MANN, LUCAS, GIRTMAN, BOWMAN, COPELAND, and COLLINS. There were so few people around back then, that we may find a connection between the Turley's and my relatives. For now, I list the Turley's that turned up in the congregation over the years: Lucy Turley "Joined Jan/1830" James L. Turley "Dead" Agnes Turley "Dead" Sara Turley "Dismissed 1841") Ann Turley "Dismissed (presented letter) Margaret P. Turley "July 1843" John: If you have access to a fax machine, I can fax the 6 pages that I have. JOHN WILHAM
