John Caudy's widow Sarah Ann/Sally is my 2nd great grand aunt, a daughter of Samuel and Margret Matthews Downing. I do not know offhand who RJ and MA Caudy are. Caudy, John W. Son of RJ & MA Caudy D. Aug 17, 1868 Age 2 mo 1 da Caudy, John J. Died Apr 15, 1863 Aged 45 yrs 60 mo 8 da Marquis Caudy was married to Mary French Clark. She is my 3rd great grandaunt, a daughter of John Winans and Nancy Isgrig Clark. If you go straight east from Downing Cemetery it is less than 5 miles to the old Yankeetown later Chestnut area -- Elizabeth S. Mills' FAN [friends and neighbors] club in action.
