It can be time consuming and sometimes impossible to locate an obit in these very old papers, but sometimes you get lucky...just have to have time to go look and have enough info, a solid date, makes the hunt fairly simple, it's either there or not. With only limited details...such as the year 1865, that can take a lot of time and you probably will come up empty handed. 1867 is VERY OLD there are only a few micro-films of papers that old...and they are a hodge-podge of missing issues, hard to read or just not available (If memory serves me 1865 is the very earliest paper, but don't hold me to that, that's from memory, Cheryl has them listed I belive somewhere on the Logan county page.) ALSO the farther back you go they mostly talked about general World issues like the war and such...the "gossip" hometown news can be hard to find in the very old papers. So it may be impossible, but unless you look you'll never know,if you have just a "couple" obits, I could try for you...just reply with the ones you are hunting for and I'll see if I can find them for you.
