The above named families were early settlers in Logan Co., IL. Joseph and Elizabeth Orendorff were married in Sangamon Co. before Logan Co. was created. Mary McGraw, later Mrs. Zadock Mundy, was the sister of Elizabeth Orendorff. These sisters were among some eight children of one David Stephens and his wife Elizabeth of Henderson Co., KY. One of the nieces of Mary and Elizabeth nee Stephens was the first wife of Christopher Ewing. If anyone is studying/researching these families, I have some information to contribute, based on some old letters found in Texas in the 20th century. Alfred Orendorff, a prominent attorney of Sangamon Co. (Springfield) was a son of Joseph and Elizabeth Orendorff. He had several brothers, one of whom was also an attorney of Kansas City, Missouri.
