Donna Copeland generously volunteered to transcribe the 1855 Illinois State Census for Logan County. I obtained some decent photocopies of the microfilm at the Illinois State Archives, with help from Molly Kennedy, and sent it to her. She transcribed the entire census, every little detail. I don't have it linked on the main page yet but list members can get a sneak preview at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~illogan/1855censusintro.htm The copy of the census from the microfilm is now at the Logan County G&H and can be seen there when you visit. For a small fee I believe they will make you a copy of the page or pages containing your ancestors. [Bill, correct me if that is wrong.] They also have a copy of the index on their computer.
