This is not an uncommon event in central Illinois... Lightning zaps electronics in courthouse BY PAUL AYARS THE COURIER Local lightning strikes Wednesday night knocked out a new, $3,800 voting machine displayed in the county clerk’s office in the Logan County Courthouse. The storm’s wake also idled several courthouse employees during office hours Thursday and today. While, the zapped voting machine in the clerk’s office was quickly replaced, other areas of the courthouse received technical damage requiring the expertise of three computer technology services Thursday and today, some both days, officials said. "We can still perform (office) service manually," said Logan County Clerk Sally Litterly. "It’s just not accessible as quickly as some would like it." --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
