    1. RE: [ILLOGAN] Your Beck Surname Interest
    2. Patrice -- Looks like it's a different John Beck. Since he married into one of my collateral lines, I have not really researched his family, but I strongly suspect that he was the son of Richard and Sarah Beck, with siblings Phebe, Minerva, Richard, Margaret, Walter, Peter, and Cora (1880 census for Niantic, Macon, Illinois). In the 1900 census, he is living with his wife (Carrie Belle Miller, my great grandfather's sister) and their two eldest children (Otis and Winnie) in Laenna twp, Logan County, Illinois. He was not mulatto. Guy I. Colby IV Irving, TX -------------- Original message from "Patrice Wilson" : -------------- This is possibly a hit. Was your John Beck mulatto. If so then could be a match. My John was the son of Alexander and Susan (Anna) Beck. Other siblings were Oscar, Elonzo, Prudence, and Mary. I have them living in Mt. Pulaski and Springfield and Lincoln at various times.
