Washington Street in Mt. Pulaski, IL. He belonged to the Christian Church, and was a Republican. He enlisted in April 1861 in Company H. 7th Illinois Regiment, then re-enlisted in August 1862 in Company D, 106th Illinois Infantry and served as a 2nd Lieutenant and 1st Lieutenant, until 1865. He married Mary Ann "Molly" Patterson following his return from service in the Union Army. He was a member of the Sam Walker Grand Army of the Republic post at Mt.
