Frakes and Moore were related to Downing by marriage. I don't know who James Scott was. "John Downing was enrolled as a Private Fifth Class, Captain James Scott's Eighth Company, Third Battalion, Washington County Militia, and marched April 15, 1782, according to the evidence of a Return of the Fourth and Fifth Classes dated April 22, 1782." What I am trying to figure out is if it is the same James Scott or a coincidence.
