Obituary - Mount Pulaski Times-News, 3 April 1969 ELVA SCROGGIN SERVICES APRIL 2 Mrs. Elva Scroggin of 104 German Ave., Mount Pulaski, passed away at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital at 1:20 a.m. Monday, March 31, 1969. She had been a patient at the hospital for the past five weeks. Mrs. Scroggin was born June 28, 1887 at Burnt Prairie, Ill., the daughter of James and Mary Endicott Gaultney. She was married to Charles B. Scroggin at Washington, Indiana, Dec. 10, 1912, and he passed away June 6, 1937. She is survived by two sons, Harold and Howard Scroggin of Mount Pulaski. One daughter preceded her in death. There are two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two sisters survive, Mrs. James Ward, Sr., Indianapolis, Indiana, and Mrs. Ruth Hackman, Mt. Vernon, Indiana. Mrs. Scroggin was a member of the Mount Pulaski Christian Church and the Rebekah Lodge. Funeral services for Mrs. Elva Scroggin were held at the Schahl Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 2, 1969, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Ray Gipson officiating. Organ music by Mrs. June Boyd. Interment in Steenbergen Cemetery. Pallbearers were Franklin Davis, Harvey Robinson, Franklin Shanle, Aden Kuhns, Russell Curtis, and Floyd Buckles.
