There was a train from Indianapolis/Champaign-Urbana/ and terminated in Havana. They may have taken the train to Springfield so that made a bit of sense. It's all just a bit odd. I know in the bad old days some records "walked" out of courthouses but I can think of no earthly reason anyone would want this one. I have to think it was just misfiled but I haven't figured out under what. I think I have tried every possible search in the book. ________ Logan County ILGenWeb: http://www.rootsweb.com/~illogan To unsubscribe send a message to: ILLOGAN-request@Rootsweb.com with unsubscribe as the subject. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ILLOGAN-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message Joan Black Lund jblgene@sbcglobal.net http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~joanlund/
Was Logan still a part of Sangamon county in the time frame of when these people were married? That would explain why Sangamon county and not Logan county. That's a good thought but it doesn't apply in either case. I believe his was about 1915 and mine was 1885. The marriage records pre 1839 are at IRAD, no need to go through the Sangamon County Clerk or those. And IRAD is considerably cheaper.
