IL inhabitants between 1850 - 1868. Looking for surnames Craven and Robinson (Robenson). Thanks, JaneAnn Gifford JaneAnn: Growing up in Logan County, my parents were friends with people named "CRAVENS" rather than "Craven". In my genealogy research of central Illinois, I have only run across the name CRAVENS. In the "Bryson Book", there are Arthur, Everett, Georgia Enos, Kaye Toskar, Lois Screst, Sharon Leka, and Shirley Ebbersten CRAVENS. They are all on pages 28, 29, 30, & 31. Buffalo Hart, Cornland, and Elkhart are mentioned Also, under ROBINSON, you have John E. on page 170, L.M. Rev. on page 116, and L.M. Rev on page 335. (I looked and L.M. was the minister of the Christian Church in Mt. Pulaski) The reverences were for officiating at a funeral and a marriage. I went to page 170 and found the daughter of John E. ROBISON named Toni ROBISON, but also found that Toni ROBINSON married a Paul Peterson, so here are those various spellings again. There were also ROBISON's in the index and I will look them up for you. ROBISON's: John p. 167, Marion p. 167, Marshall p. 167 & 335 (note that on page 335, I see the spelling of L.M. ROBINSON applying the "n" again, but this must mean that L.M.'s name is L. Marshall Robinson/Robison)(maddening isn't it?), Paula Schussele p. 170, & Toni p. 170. It's interesting that on page 167, I find Paul Peterson 24 years old, missing in action on the Western Front Dec/1942? Also that Peterson's had a child October 15 named Caitland Dora. Also, a story that he was hiding under a tank from German soldiers for several days and returned to live in Logan county. It mentions here also, that Marshall and Marion Robison were great grandparents of "Caitlin Dora". If these give any clues to you, just ask and I will copy out and fax to you. JOHN WILHAM
