    2. Hi John, I remember our many emails and all the help you gave me. While I am still trying to find more on Sarah J. (Phillips) Scroggin's ancestors. This query is to try and find information on her descendants and where they went when they left Logan County, if indeed they did leave. I do have a fax number I can email you privately. I haven't seen the book you speak of. I will contact Mt. Pulaski. Thanks for your help once again. Below I have pasted some information for you that I obtained when I sent for a title search from a Logan County firm. It names the siblings of Sarah and I would like to find information on them all as I have very little. Lois Branch Certificate Dated October 28. 1850 of Recorded in Entry Book Entry Entered: The NE 1/4 of Section 6, Township 17 North, Range 3 West of the 3rd P. M., containing 154.88 acres. Entryman: Jacob G. Loose Warranty Deed Dated December 14, 1858 Filed December 15, 1858 Recorded in Book T, page 411 Jacob G. Loose and Elizabeth M. Loose, his wife to The heirs of Rice Phillips Consideration: $320.00 Grant, bargain and sell: The NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 6 in Township 17 North of Range 3 West of the 3rd P. M., containing 40 acres, more or less. Acknowleged December 14, 1858, by Jacob G. Loose and Elizabeth M. Loose, his wife, before N. W. Matheny, Clerk of the Circuit Court of Sangamon County, Illinois. In the Matter of the County Court, Logan County, Illinois Estate of In Probate Box 24 Rice Phillips, Deceased Order of Court entered May 4, 1887, recorded in Probate Journal 1, page 4, is as follows: "This day came William J. Crain and represented to the Court that on the 2nd day of June A. D. 1856 he was appointed Administrator of the Estate of Rice Phillips, deceased, by the County Court of Logan County, Illinois, that he executed at said date his bond as such, which bond was appointed by said Court and that Letters of Administration issued to him under seal of said Court which are now produced to the Court and the Court being fully satisfied that the bond heretofore given by said Administrator was destroyed by fire on the 15th day of April A. D. 1857. It is ordered by the Court that the said Administrator execute their bond in the sum of $2000.00 and that he be allowed till the 3rd Monday of June next to file said bond. It is further ordered that the Letters of Administration heretofore issued to said Administrator be recorded." Order of Discharge entered February 19, 1867, recorded in Probate Journal 5, page 21, is as follows: "Wm. J. Crain, Administrator of said Estate appeared in Court and made a final settlement of said Estate by which it appears he is charged with $26.05 and credited with $6.65 leaving in his hands $19.40 due said estate and it appearing to the Court that the costs of this Court amounting to $19.40 are unpaid. It is ordered by the Court that the Administrator pay the same in full and it being represented to the Court by the Administrator that at the sale of personal effects of said Estate Telfort Evans gave his note for $115.00 with William W. Miller for security, that he obtained judgement in the Logan Circuit Court for the amount of said note, that execution issued therefor and that he has been unable to collect the same and asks to file it for the benefit of the heirs of said Estate. It is ordered by the Court that the same be filed. It is further ordered by the Court that said Administrator upon complying with the above orders of the Court be discharged." NOTE: - At the burning of Court House April 14, 1857, all of the records and files of the Probate Court of Logan County, Illinois, were destroyed. Abstracter has not shown Administrator's Casual Reports entered of record from time to time. A careful examination of all maters of record in the matter of said estate fails to reveal any information as to the heirship of said deceased. (My note: Besides the above, included in the land records is the will of Rice Phillips' Mother, Matilda Phillips, along with the following notes): In the Matter of the Estate of Matilda Phillips, deceased. County Court, Logan County, Illinois. In Probate Box No. 24 Affidavit of Decease subscribed and sworn to by John England, filed June 17th, 1861, recorded in Will Record 1, page 100, represents that Matilda Phillips departed this life testate on or about November 19th, 1860, leaving the following named children, towit: Rachel Crane, Mary McGee, James W. Phillips, Joseph Phillips, Sarah Scroggin and Augustus Phillips. Will filed March 4th, 1861, Will proven in open Court, admitted to probate and ordered recorded; recorded in Will Record 1, page 100, is as follows: (See notes under Matilda Phillips for will) Attestation of John England and A. Robinson, two subscribing witness to Will omitted from this Abstract. Adjustment Day had December 16th, 1861. Probate Journal 2, page 430. Order of Discharge entered December 21st 1863, recorded in Probate Jounal 3, page 301
