    1. RE: [ILLOGAN] Question on naturalization records
    2. Cheryl Rothwell
    3. I have no personal experience with naturalization records. The Logan County G&S did listings of the naturalization records in Roots and Branches and eventually I believe collected them all into a publication. There is a cut off date as I understand it -- before a certain date they are at the county and after that they are federal records. If you have names and dates it might work to go to Lincoln. If you are going to have to search you might be better off ordering the microfilm because they aren't going to let you search their records in Lincoln and they will only search and copy them as time permits. Both clerks have other other duties, as you know, and can't drop everything to do this. Depending on which clerk it is, they are going to be tied up with the election on top of their other duties for the next 6 weeks I imagine. It might be the circuit clerk, as a court proceeding but, since they don't do it anymore it might end up being the clerk/recorder. Why not give them a call and see what the situation is? County Clerk/Recorder [Sally Litterly](217) 732-4148; Circuit Clerk [Carla Bender](217) 735-2376 They both have general web sites too: http://www.co.logan.il.us/county_clerk/ http://www.co.logan.il.us/circuit_clerk/ Cheryl Rothwell [email protected] Logan County ILGenWeb www.rootsweb.com/~illogan Central IL Regional Coordinator, ILGenWeb Clark, Downing, Harding, Lucas, et al --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
