The Sangamon County Genealogical Society will host a research day on Saturday, July 14 from 9 am to 1 pm at the society's office, 2856 South 11th St., Springfield, Illinois The office is located three blocks north of Stevenson Drive on the corner of 11th Street and Knox and three blocks south of Bunn Park on 11th Street. Members of the society's board will be available to answer research questions throughout the day. Family history materials from the society's library are available for all to view including microfilmed copies of birth (1877-1916), marriage (1821-1925) and death certificates (1877-1940s) for Sangamon County. Surname and obituary files, Auburn Citizen (1874-1965) and other area newspaper microfilms are also available to view at the office.
