George is not a listed child of Charles Barney. However, since they passed through before 1840 and the first set of children were mostly adults, it is possible that one or more of the sons stayed, married locally and George is a son of that marriage. This is one of the reasons why I posted it. The family passed through and left its mark but would be hard to trace. Years ago we had someone trying to work on Marcy Jane Lucas' first husband, John Williams. His stone is one of those missing from Steenbergen. She did not know what happened to Marcy. Cheryl Rothwell
