Need help---trying to locate birth parents of a Samuel (O'Brine (O'Brien) b 1868. Marriage certificate to Rebecca Graham Mitchell states Samuel was born 3 June 1868 in San Jose, Mason Co. IL. Family recollection is that his mother died at some point in time after his birth. He was taken in by the midwife who delivered him. The midwife (name unknown) evidently raised him to around the age of 9yrs old when she too passed away. He was then dropped off at Eleanor (Ellen) Proctor O'Brien's house in San Jose. Eleanor Proctor O'Brien purchased property in San Jose in 1868 located next to her sister Mary Proctor Hight. Eleanor had married a William O'Brien in 1851 WV and was widowed by the time she moved to San Jose. Eleanor never legally adopted Samuel. Samuel's oldest son Forrest O'Brine's wife listed in her family Bible that Samuel's birth surname was Waxs???Wack,Wacht. or Weeks. etc. Would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you.
