Obituary - Mount Pulaski Times-News, 17 June 1948 Harold England Killed Tuesday In Chicago Plant Son of Mrs. Tillie England Is Victim of Accident Harold England, a native of Mount Pulaski vicinity, who had been employed in Chicago for about 25 years, was killed at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 1948, in a factory accident at the plant of Bethlehem Steel Co. His mother, Mrs. Tillie England, left for Chicago immediately upon receiving word of her son's untimely death. Harold England was born on July 31, 1902 on a farm near Mount Pulaski, a son of John and Tillie Horn England. He attended the Mount Pulaski schools, and many years ago went to Chicago to work. In that city on June 13, 1925, he married Miss Hester Showalter. Decedent is survived by his wife, and one daughter, Lois, of Chicago; mother, Mrs. Tillie England, Mount Pulaski; one brother, John England, Chicago; and a half-sister, Mr. Huber Zimmerli of San Pablo, California. Following funeral services in Chicago Friday afternoon, the remains will be brought to Mount Pulaski that evening and taken to the Schahl Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19, conducted by Rev. Ray O. Zumstein, pastor of the St. John's Lutheran Church. Burial will be made in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
