I ran across an obituary for an Addie Mary England, widow of Rev. Jesse England, died 27 October 1941. She was buried in Bowers-Templeman cemetery. Does anyone know if Rev. Jesse England was related to Rev. John England, who died in 1884 in Logan County? If so, how are they related? Bill Scroggin

There were Englands in Logan County that I do not seem to find had any connection Rev. John BUT that doesn't mean they didn't. They lived along the south side of Salt Creek but close enough that Bowers-Templeman makes sense. One, Floyd, killed a woman in Decatur in the 1950s and died in the state prison at Menard. I think it was a drunken argument. Before he did all that he was married to my great aunt. She died in 1936, well before I was born. I don't know much about him other than that. He remarried and remarried again. I have been idly curious about the England connection but I haven't researched it. I would be interested in see the obit for Addie Mary England to see if she is connected to Floyd. Rev. Jesse died in 1921 and is also buried at Bowers-Templeman. Mrs. Rev. John is buried at Turley Cemetery. There is an England who married a Zimmerli buried at Steenbergen along with a John C. and his wife Mary Frankie Buckles England. At Lake Bank there is a Alvia England. There is an Eliza England Spidle at MountJoy. There are Harold, Tillie and John at Mt. Pulaski; the Rev. John and his daughter Sarah England Goff; the above mentioned Floyd and my great aunt and their son Quinlan; Albert and his wife Osa. That's just a sampling so you can see England is not an uncommon name in Logan County.
